I've got a sickness...It's called a travel bug and it gets worse everyday.
People are always surprised to find out that I travel alone, and that I actually enjoy traveling alone. Of course, as a twenty-something year old female, traveling alone does require a substantial amount of money. After all, it is far more dangerous for a girl to be backpacking alone than it is for a boy. Traveling alone is not a taboo, it can actually be therapeutic, peaceful, and the wide range of people you will encounter will cure any signs of loneliness.
In a group package tour, you will see maybe five sights per day. For me, I see up to 18 sights per day, and no, it is not rushed at all. What good is shelling out your last paycheck for a costly trip if you can't see anything? I like to get the bang for my buck. After all, the plane trip, the hotel fees, they're all fixed costs anyways.
This is not a travel blog teaching you how to travel cheap. However, this will guide you in how to get the bang for your buck, how to see everything a destination has to offer. It will lead you to where all the beautiful people gather at night, and where the four-star chefs chop, dice, and grill your next unforgettable meal.
Often, travel books are either too long or too short, and lead you to too expensive or too cheap spots. Hopefully, I can show you a balance.
One last note: I am an awful photographer, armed with only a digital camera. I always try my best but please do not expect quality photographs.
